College School Loan Tax Deductions
In the 70's and 80's student loan interest was tax deductible. Then
in the 90's it was no longer deductible. Now school loan interest is
deductible, but there are limitations.
In the mid-80's states started a prison boom, as a result of for-profit
contracts with private companies. Some states have 3 times as many
prisons now as they did in the 70's but the crime rate seems to be
getting worse and worse.

Mutual Funds That Perform Well Don't Have To Be Low Cost
I have preached a lot about mutual funds that have low cost which
includes low yearly fees, no front end load and no back end load.
This is what I believe is the best for most of my mutual funds. But,
just like every other rule there is an exception to that rule with
mutual funds. The exception, in my opinion is that of purchasing high
performing, well managed funds, even if the cost are slightly high.

5 Reasons Consolidate To Student Loans Before the June 30 Deadline
Congress has passed a law allowing students to consolidate loans to lock
in the lower rate. This is a great opportunity but you will have to move
fast to take advantage of itbecause the deadline to apply is June 30.
I am a graduate student at New York University so I have loans. Anything
I see that will reduce the repayment burden has my attention. I recently
consolidated my school loans to take advange of the lower rate but if
you
don't act now you may find a big spike in your student loan bill. Right
now the rates are about 4.75- 5 percent. On July 1 those rates are expected
to rise almost 2 percent. The fact that I have consolidated now could
potentially save me thousands of dollars over the life of my loan.
