Many scholarships require essays. MsFinancialSavvy spoke
to a high school student who was successful in getting scholarships
based on her ability to
write outstanding essays.
This is the advice
she gave;
- Concentrate on your positive qualities, leadership, volunteer
work, discipline, jobs you've held.
- Let them know if you have experienced hardships you have
had to overcome.
- Edit your essay several times; make sure it has perfect
grammar and no misspelled words.
Ask an educated family member, an educated family friend,
a teacher or a counselor whom you have a good relationship
with to edit your essay. Preferably, this should be someone
who has superior grammatical skills.
